Lavisa EMMONS was born 1837 in Franklin Co., MO and is the daughter of Julius EMMONS. Her and her son, Norman WALL moved to Potosi / Mineral Point area sometime between 1900-1910. Lavisa first married Squire Short and their children (Julius Eli SHORT, Amanda Francis ARNOLD / SCHULTZ, Delila REEL) were born in Texas between 1855-1860. Her second marrage to Anthony WALL produced three sons (Simon, Norman and Marselles) between 1864-1872. Lavisa was listed in the 1920 Kingston Township census at age 76 living with her son, Norman WALL and his wife Mary. I am told she lived to be about 100. Can anyone help me get a better understanding of my gg grandmother Lavisa.

ELDERS: Dr. H. William Elders was in St. Clair from around 1895 to 1904, after which he spent the remainder of his career at St. Joseph, MO. It is my understanding that he was from Richwoods, but had trained with a doctor at DeSoto earlier. I am working on St. Clair history and would like to know more about Dr. Elders and his family. Their first child together was Lott Webb, born in 1828 in Washington County, MO. James Webb is one of my ancestors on my mother´s side of the family. Melvina´s mother Mary Jane West Hufstedler moved to Washington Co. to live with Melvina. Mary Jane died in Feb 1929 and is supposedly buried in the Shirley Cemetery. Melivna attended First Baptist Church in Shirley. She was baptized 02/22/1928. She attended church until 11/26/1938 when she moved to Van Buren, MO.; she came back in 1943. His parents were Uriah and Judith (Holman) THOMPSON. I am sure he was married around 1831 as the Arkansas census showed his oldest son was born on Nov 3, 1831 in Mo. According to family records Catherine was issue of Bernard MURRAH/MURRY and Agnes WALDEN/WALLIN/WALLEN and granddaughter of Catherine Wallen of Washington Co. Seeking issues and ancestry information for Bernard and Agnes. Agnes is named in 1830 census in Washington Co. MO and probably the Agnes Murry named in Logan Co. KY in 1820. According to family records she was living in KY in 1822. Most likely Bernard has deceased. Appearing in Washington Co. records are several MURRAH/MURRY families. Names such as Berryman, Cleveland etc. have been repeated in later generations. Information from anyone knowledgeable of MURRAH, MURRY, MURRAY in order to construct a family group for Bernard and Agnes would be greatly appreciated.

They had at least 2 children, Martha HORTON who died 7/3/1887 and is buried in the Horton Cemetary, and Charles Jones HORTON b. 5/7/1869 Sunlight, MO d. 6/1/1926 Herculaneum, MO.

Charles McCARRON born County Cork, Ireland buried St. James Cemetary, Potosi, MO, served with 6th Missouri Infantry Co. B. Married to Martha ATKINS/ADKINS/AKINS (?) (whose mother was supposedly a pure blooded Cherokee) no birth info., died 8/28/1911 at age 85 also buried at St. James. They had at least 7 children: Phillip, Kate, William, Patrick, Martha, Nan/Han, and Roseanna. Roseanna b. 1/21/1867 Irondale, MO d. 5/12/1958 Festus, MO.

Roseanna McCARRON and Charles Jones HORTON married and had at least three children:Emmett, Harry and Genevieve Matilda b. 4/12/1909 Doe Run, MO.

Would like to correspond with anyone who might have information on these families or possibly a family named WOOD (Smith G.) who married a Mattie McCARRON.
