FAQ's

Q.  Can I link to your site from my site?

A.  Yes, you can. I have even provided you with a logo that you can use (see bottom of page).

Q.  Can you help me with my research?

A.  Part of being a genealogist is doing the detective work to track your people down. I can only lead you to resources to help you in that search.

Q.  Can I upload records to your site?

A.  No, but you can always email them to me and I'll see what I can do about adding them or finding them a home. There is also a Facebook group where you can add your records as well.

Q.  I have a transcription of an obituary, can you add it to your site?

A.  We have a place for you to submit all your Washington County obituaries - the Washington County USGenWeb Archives. In fact, we will take a variety of transcriptions.

Q.  I can't get one of your links to work. What do I do?

A.  Let me know which link and I'll fix it or remove it.

Q.  I have a link that is very useful to me in my research. Can you add it to your site?

A.  Yes I can! Please email me the link and I'll get right on it.

Q.  Can you do lookups for me?

A.  Sorry, I cannot. I would suggest you contact the local library in Potosi, Missouri. They should have a lot of records and books at their disposal and they can help you.

Q.  Which genealogy software do you suggest?

A.  There are so many with various price ranges that you need to research that yourself on the internet. Try posting on message boards or discussion boards and see what everyone else likes.

Q.  My ancestor was born in Potosi before Washington County formed. How can I find records on them?

A.  Washington County was organized on August 21, 1813. Before that, it was part of Ste. Genevieve County. Try looking there.
