Opportunities for youthful education at that time in Kentucky were extremely rare. She taught herself, and became in a pre-eminent degree a very accomplished woman, acquiring a knowledge of Greek, Astronomy, Natural History, Ethics; read Blackstone's Commentaries, Locke, Bacon, and many other works. She was a fine musician, an extremely pious woman, beloved by all who knew her. She died at Potosi, Missouri, 2 Feb 1856, aged 74 Years.
